This is awesome! You did a great job with the gender reversal. I also like the alternate female name for Shining Armor. Gleaming Shield is very regal. Bonus points for such creativity.
We also should know that a male pony can be pink with a mane like the one shown on Prince Cadence. Ponies come in all colors with how their coat and mane appear being irrelevant to whether they are male or female.
This is why I like shows like MLP: FiM along with being in the Furry Fandom. Discrimination is cut down severely when you have so many varieties of something that you focus more on the personality than the features the human world is so obsessed with.
