Chapter Four: Reunion
Springtrap had a hunch that the immortal he sensed earlier in the day was still around, but couldn't spot him on any of the surveylance cameras. Getting more concerned of what he sensed, he picked up his 2 swords and combed the abandoned restaurant until he felt the sense again, this time coming from the front door rather than the back. "Hello? Hello?" he mumbled out of his voice box, then shouted loud enough for Detective Fitzgerald to hear in the back alley. "I'm still here!!!"
"Shit," Jeremy said to himself, "someone's inside, might be Fang!" He then heard more from the voice, "Come on in! Rock, eat, party, PLAY! HaHaHaHa!!!" The sounds of the boards covering the front doors being broken could then be heard as Jeremy used his sword to pry open the back door and go in. "That's not Fang," Jeremy thought to himself, "But he sounds awfully familiar! I need to check this out!"
As Rolfe Fang started to get through the boarded up front door, the sense hit Springtrap again from the back. "An ambush?" He thought, "but who would be ambushing me?" He then made his way to the dining room, armed and ready for whoever was going to be 1st to find him. "Come in, come in," he shouted, "There's always room for more to play here!"
"Sgt. Purple?" Jeremy's voice echoed as his flashlight lit up the kitchen, "Sgt. Fritz "Purple" Smith, is that you? OH GOD!!!" He dropped the light in shock, as he noticed the head of Chika hanging over the stove, the light going out as it hit the floor. Meanwhile in the dining room, Springtrap's lack of memory and partial possession from Golden Freddy consumed him in his reply: "Sgt. Purple is dead," he shouted as Jeremy shuffled for his flashlight, then turned it back on at the kitchen door, only to find the old, decrepid animatronic looking right at him. "My name is Springtrap! I hope you're ready to die, for there can be only one!"
Springtrap then charged at Jeremy with both scimitars, which he was barely able to deflect less than a second after drawing his longsword. "Fritz," he shouted in desperation, franticly fending off each swing with his sword "Fritz if you're in there, it's me! It's me, Fritz! It's me, Jeremy!" Flashbacks then ran through Springtrap's head of Golden Freddy saying "It's me" as he continued to hack at the detective. "The last one to say that, also told me to kill him!" Jeremy had no choice but to fight back, slicing off the left paw of the animatronic, causing the sword to fall out of it before returning to a defensive stance, "I don't want you to kill me, and I don't want to kill you! You have to remember me, Sarge! I'm Jeremy! You know? Jeremy Fitzgerald, from the bite of '87? I know it wasn't your fault! You visited me at the hospital after the bite!"
More memories started to jog through Springtrap's mind, "Jeremy?" he said, "I haven't seen you in 35 years, what brings you back to this place?" Before he could answer, they both felt the other immortal's presence inside this time. "Him," Jeremy said, "Rolfe Fang, he's here! With all due respect, Sarge, I'm ready to stop him. I may have lost some intelligence when I lost my frontal lobe, but I had a good teacher over the last 30 years. Wait here." Springtrap tried to reach out to Jeremy to stop him, shouting "Wait!" His efforts though, were futile as he was already out the kitchen door.
Jeremy then went out into the dining room, then shouted "Rolfe Fang, I presume? This is Detective Jeremy Fitzgerald of the Police Dept. If you don't want me to call for backup and have you sent back up the river, you will show yourself and fight me! I know you're an immortal, as am I! You know the rule: in the end, there can be only one!"
The wolf then emerged from what remained of the Pirate's Cove, "Ahoy, me landlubber! Ready to play are ya? I've waited 35 years to get my paws on ya, even better that you've experienced a death, that means I can gain your power too!" Jeremy was getting angry at his shenanigans and charged at Fang. "Your sick little games end here, Fang," he shouted, swinging his sword down hard at the wolf, only to have it deflected by his cutlass. Jeremy then spin around to try to throw Fang off on his next attack, but it too was parried. "Not bad for a kid," Fang said to Jeremy, "but let the grown-up show you how it's done!" He then pushed with his cutlass, amd turned it, forcing the longsword out of Jeremy's paw.
"Playtime is over for you, young one," said Rolfe Fang as he took a swing at the possum's head, only to barely miss when Jeremy ducked, countering the attack with a tackle to the ground. On his way back up, the wolf went for a jab, but Jeremy stepped out of the way and grabbed his right wrist, the one holding the sword, then twisted it until Fang dropped his sword. Jeremy then kicked it under a row of dining tables. As they both went looking for their swords in the darkness, they then felt another immortal's presence. "Mac?" Jeremy shouted, "Mac is that you?"
Roderick MacVulp then emerged from 1 of the hallways from the main entrance where Fang had entered, ready to draw his katana. "Yes it is me, Jeremy," Roderick finally replied, "but the battle isn't mine, yet! I can help you though!" He then threw his katana up in the air towards Jeremy, but keen in his sense of hearing, Rolfe was able to snatch it out of mid-air. "Thank you, MacVulp," he said with a laugh, still looking towards Roderick "now it's time for your friend to...."
Before he could finish his sentence, Jeremy's longsword ran through the wolf's back. In the short time he was distracted, Jeremy found his blade and took advantage. He then pulled the blade out, watching him drop the katana and fall to all fours, holding his gut in pain. As Jeremy went for the final blow though, Fang pulled a counter attack of his own, quickly raising his tail up into the opossum's groin, disarming him and dropping him too his knees. Fang then picked up the katana and took a horizontal swing, severing Fitzgerald's head. "You and Purple Man are next!" He shouted as bolts of lightning filled and lit up the restaurant. Springtrap peered out of the kitchen door to see who had won, shaking his head in dismay and anger.
