So this is under scraps because it's only part of a current picture I'm working on, but lately I've been practicing some new things and concepts with Lucian's design.

One of the most noticeable features is a few new details on his clothing. I got better at drawing a proportionate hood for his jacket, and his shirt has a design on it instead of just being flat grey. The design is a silhouetted design based on this WeLoveFine design that I purchased at an old Bronycon (and am currently wearing at time of typing!) I also had the idea of drawing Lucian's jacket with a slightly oversized zipper. Why? Dunno, for his big fingers I guess?

But another detail one might notice is that Lucian's a bit more...scruffy. Well that's because with my belief that Lugias are covered in something like feathers (explaining the Silver Wing key item), that Lucian would have a sort of fluffier design to him rather than a sleek look. I've seen other artists who draw Lugia do this sometimes, and I figured it'd be a good idea to transition that into Lucian. This also means I can explain why he's got a goatee; his goatee is actually feathers on his chin he dyed dark brown as a makeshift goatee! Now when I draw him it'll seem less like oddly placed hair on a feathered creature and more like a pattern, if anything.

As for this shading and specific style, it's not going to be consistent, but I was trying to imitate a certain art style. However, my efforts to copy the style down pat were proven useless useless useless useless useless. Oh, Duwang, I steamrolled any chances I had at perfect imitation.
