!!!The Imperator worked like a perfectly oiled machine. Nowhere could officers be seen hurrying, panicking, or hovering in even a split second's indecision. To an outsider, it might have the look of an automaton, but the truth of the ship's perfection lay on the bridge. The Emperor himself was aboard, not menacing his loyal subjects as his predecessor had, but standing back in the matte black uniform he'd worn as a grand admiral, calmly discussing the coordinated fleets' tactics with his chief aide, Admiral Ferris.
His consort rested only a few yards away, the heavy swell of her pregnant belly all too visible in the abbreviated gown and leggings she wore. A thick gold chain lay in her small hands, a gleam of pure hatred in her eyes. Malys was still haughty, dangerous, her lovely face hidden behind her characteristic veils, but slowed by her pregnancy. Nearing the end of her term now, her mercurial moods and volatile temper were compounded by the physical discomfort of her condition. The pregnancy necessitated that she be kept close and under control, lest she damage the child. She was little more than a prisoner, trusted with no duties beyond the oversight of his captive weapon. That one knelt at the other end of the chain, hidden from prying eyes by her uniform cloak and cowl.
"Redirect Admiral Saris and his fleet toward Corellia, admiral," Khal'Saad murmured, his attention fixed not on his consort but on the battle playing out beyond the viewports. "They will be better placed to intercept the Rebels there." Ferris nodded in agreement, signaling a lesser officer who hastened off to do the Emperor's bidding.
The powerfully built tiger closed his eyes, sliding effortlessly into the Force. Viewed that way, his young prisoner burned like the stars surrounding them, illuminating pathways through the battlefield for his own vessels while hampering the paltry Resistance that had gathered so arrogantly to challenge his rule. Garm Bel Iblis declaring himself Diktat had virtually ensured his personal involvement in the fight - but with the might of his Empire, an Empire that thanks to his efforts spanned two galaxies and countless systems, behind him, the wily old wolf could no longer expect to win. He merely wanted to go out in a blaze of glory that the newly made Emperor was all too happy to provide.
Sher directed his attention outward, sorting through the fleet with the lightest touch of his mind. His tactics, and those of Admiral Ferris, were sound. With the child doing as he bade, providing his orders to the fleet with a touch far lighter than that of the dead Palpatine, there was no danger of the Jedi or Malys making an attempt against his own person. Her presence was a distraction to his enemies. A slight frown marred his face as he reviewed the fleet. The Force did not touch all of the Rebel ships, which was concerning in its own right. Intelligence suspected that the Rebels had captured ysalamiri for use on their flagships, but every operative sent to confirm those reports vanished. Even the hated beasts could not account for the way the child’s battle meditation had spread outward through the fleet. The Force merely enhanced the efforts of his navy, yet in the places where he could not feel her influence, his men were struggling for the upper hand.
The Emperor's eyes snapped open in sudden recognition, boring into the defiant violet gaze of the battered girl. The Force gathered in his palms as an electric current, but before he could unleash a killing blow, she blurred into action. The young woman shot to her feet, her feral scream echoing through the bridge. The troopers closest to them flew away from her in an arc, slamming into the nearest bridge stations. Their armor crunched and warped with the impact. At least two of them died, their sudden demise little more than a ripple to his heightened senses. It looked like a concussion grenade had been thrown at the stormtroopers, not a blast created from the Force.
He balled the lightning he had gathered and threw it at her chest, but she whipped it back at him with one outstretched hand. The holoterminal behind him exploded in a shower of sparks when the energy slammed into its delicate instruments. A wave of his hand deflected the worst of the debris.
The snap-hiss of a lightsaber pulled his attention back to the girl. She spun with his lightsaber in her outstretched hand, the bloodred blade whispering to rest across the heavy swell of his consort’s belly. Malys struggled to react, but her pregnancy hampered her. Ever more a creature of instinct and emotion rather than thought as her mind eroded, her movements were jerky and ineffectual. The girl came to a halt behind the heavily pregnant vixen, the chain connected to her slave's collar wrapped tight around his consort's throat. Malys choked on a cry, thrashing and struggling to pull in air as her former student began to strangle the life out of her. Her hands went instinctively to the chain around her neck rather than the weapons at her side while she struggled for breath.
That enough of the child remained to be defiant would have been laughable under any other circumstances, but the Emperor was not willing to risk his heir, his future, to the desperate actions of a prisoner who meant little more to him than a well-designed ship. He attacked again, not with the Force but with his mind. She was strong with the Force, perhaps stronger than even he - but her mind was more badly abused than even her body, as per his careful machination. There, he would be on solid footing, easily able to crush the child beneath him.
He heard her scream again, but distantly, as he dragged her onto the new field of combat. It mattered little to him. With or without her, he would crush the rebellion once and for all.
LOOOONG awaited commission for the ever patient
of her character taking
hostage. Lots of detail in this one, and it took a long time, but I'm fairly happy with the results!Done on 11" x 14" bristol with copic markers, micron inks, india ink, colored pencil, and white gel pen.

Watching this come to life really blew me away. I think my favorite part of this is the far left character, particularly the outfit. Black is a very difficult color to render without it becoming one-dimensional and flat. With this, I can see a multitude of values at work, from the lightning casting blue tones on it, to a very subtle brown on his glove. I really love the texture on the lower portion of the outfit, with the many folds. I feel like I could just reach out and touch it.
The other thing I really enjoy is the flow of the scene, from left, to right, to the background. Nothing is too busy or distracting. Even the console behind the right two characters, with the numerous buttons and lights, doesn't detract from the rest of the scene. Again, the light cast from the sabers, as reflected on the fur and clothing, gives so much dimension and form to the cloth itself. And we can even see just a touch of how the lightning reflects off the right two characters, on the feline's forearm, her leg, and a tiny reflection in the eye. You really thought all of this out. Or, you know, you just know what you're doing, hahaha.
I also really enjoy the angle on the white character's muzzle. That's really tough to pull off, and you did it so well!! The coloring really gives it its shape and it's really pleasing to the eye.
I'm not sure how you made space look so perfectly black, but I really enjoy the stark contrast it has with the rest of the smoothly blended shades. The smoke has a really gritty texture that reminds me of clouds or cotton. Man, I just wanna touch every part of this drawing for the texture alone.
PS: SNARLY TIGER FACE YEAH

Holy crap!!!!
There is SO much detail in this picture I don't even know what to say! You are incredibly talented, I hope you realize that about yourself. You are truly an inspiration. To look at this image and know you created this with your own two hands… it shows me the level of talent and growth that can occur if you push yourself to further your artistic abilities. The backgrounds, the scenery, the characters, they flow so perfectly. Even the ships flying by shooting the lasers outside the windows from their ship… just amazing. And the guy hanging onto the ledge trying to hold on.. the computery stuff and mechanisms, and I am very fascinated by the angle you drew the vixen's face from.. it adds a lot to her character. And I just love that tiger ok he is all tough and powerful with his roar and teeth and angry face he is awesome!
Hot damn girl you rock!

As the person behind that snarling tiger face on the left there, I can only repeat the awed wonder that so many others have expressed here - this is an amazing piece of work, and I am honored to have been a part of it. There is so much contained within this moment, and its repercussions carry so much with them...well, not going to spoil. Magnificently done !
