One thing I always pondered about bat-anthros, is that they have backwards hips in comparison to real bats... who have.. backwards hips in comparison to people. Despite how very impractical it'd be, I still yearn to see a bat anthro with proper bat hips.

I have actually doodled some anthro bats with backwards hips. I have really tried to make it work in my anthros, but rofl, it just... won't fly. No pun intended. They usually just end up looking like mutants. MUTANTS.

Rofl, bats don't do much walking period. Well, vampire bats do, but most of the other species, when they end up on the ground, do something more akin to flailing until they move. XD go for it.

Ooooh, love the neck fuzz. Possibly some kind of fruit bat? But the nose looks an awful lot like a leaf-nosed... All in all, very cute design! I'm lovin' the coloration on her.

I think you should keep her name as "Toast".

I was actually quite interested in your reasoning for the pawpads in the design in that perspective. I was interested in a lot of features in this design.

Actually, I told you I meant it in not a rude/bitchy way. If you took it that way, it's your fault, and I'm sorry you took it that way when I was actually interested in what you had to say.

But for the record, it was mostly those quotes around "bat" that ticked me off. Came off as unnecessarily judge-y, you know? The pawpads are there for 1) aesthetics and 2) because the wings are also partially stylized as hands, hence the free forefinger digit.

so is it normal to draw bats with long tails? im trying to draw a bat ref sheet for a friend, struggling here and there, and im just curious if a long tail is necessary. ive seen a few that dont, and some that do and im all sorts of confused

Bats do not normally have long tails, no! But I gave this character one for stylistic reasons. It's up to you and whatever you think looks best!
