It's still a bit overbright, but that's mostly due to the specular settings and the choice in lighting. When animated, you see the light-blue shine fall off quite a bit as the angle changes. As far as experiments go, I'd say this one is successful. But, it still take a lot of work to implement. I need a lot more practice.

...I don't know why it clips off so abruptly at the top, though.
