Chiptune - Battletoads GB - General Slaughter (VRC6)
posted 10 years ago Musician
Also: Chiptune 2A03 MP3 version
The Game Boy game Battletoads was one of my favorite games in the Battletoads series. It was an original game design, and not a port of any other Battletoads game - I think, besides the arcade game, it was the only Battletoads game that wasn't ported to more than one platform. And what I especially liked about it was its music by David Wise, which to me had even more character to it than the NES game's music.
This is the music from the first stage, General Slaughter's level. (Why isn't there more General Slaughter fanart? I've seen tons of Big Blag fanart, but General Slaughter was great too. XD)
Made with FamiTracker. This is the version using Konami VRC6 expansion sound hardware, with a sawtooth for the bass. I also made a separate version using the NES's default 2A03 to see how good it could still sound using a triangle wave for bass. Click here to download the FTM and NSF files for both versions.
