If there were a race between a Chihuahua and a Red Kangaroo, who would you say would win? Well, we're about to find out...
How this got started was when former track star (and current Olympic games hopeful) June Springwell was in the gym training, and made an offhand comment about her potential for victory against anyone there if they were to challenge her to a footrace. Rosalita Perra, also working on keeping fit, took her up on that offer. Just let that sink in for a moment: a Chihuahua accepts a challenge to a race against a kangaroo...
Rosalita has a fiery temper, so she brushed off any attempt to dissuade her from taking the challenge. Of course, once she figured out that this race included hurdles, she decided to make a stop off at my house, because, being the local mad scientist, she thought that I might have something to help with the race. She was right, of course. I had been working on making springs using an alloy that retains the majority of energy and force applied to it. I had tested these springs by attaching them to the bottoms of a pair of shoes, in order to easily reach the higher shelves in the lab. But this, this was a chance to actually test them in the field. So, I agreed to lend her the shoes...
Now, I'm here at the indoor track (with everyone in the gym who had heard the challenge being made and accepted) with notebook in hand to jot down the results of this test, and to enjoy the competition, of course. And they're off!...
The ninth piece out of fifteen in my "Animusic" series, based off of music, with animations (collectively known as Animusic), that I had found on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LCYGmJ1MXM
