My spacesuit, minus most of the gadgets. The suit itself is a symbiotic being that Kagé managed to make friends with and now acts as as his outfit. It can reshape, it is infact making the feline appear more muscley and well defined than he perhaps should look, it can also change shade and just how reflective it is under light.
Missing items from the spacesuit are helmet (obviously.), gauntlets on each wrist, one with a computer, boots and a thighguard.

Hello, dear heart. If I may be so bold, I would also point out one further missing piece: a tailbag or tail covering, as that looks distinctly like fur on his tail, and last I checked fur wasn't vac-proof. ^_^
Elsewise, an intriguing concept. It's been mentioned, but only rarely when it comes down to most sci-fi. Symbiotic spacesuits are definitely not common gear. Well done, dear heart!

You're quite welcome. I'm something of a hard sci-fi fan, frequenting such sites as OrionsArm.com. Unique or intriguing concepts in sci-fi are something I adore a good discussion on the matter of. Sadly, it is something I get to indulge in but rarely, as most folk I know prefer "hand-wavium" as their preferred medium of choice.
This being said, I may possibly counter your argument on one bit: symbiotic doesn't necessarily imply directly linked to (or even aware of) the host's preferences. Outside of the logical difficulties involved in sensory translation across two radically-different biological forms, there's also the matter of outright communication. Of course, your specific description points to the symbiote being both sentient and of a similar frame of psychological reference to your protagonist, thus the two "making friends". Communication, though... This of course assumes it can essentially tap into the wearer's higher brain functions to a sufficient degree to understand the preferences and likes. Intriguing complexity. Points towards the symbiote being an engineered creature meant for a similar use initially, plus close to species-specific. Intriguing, as always.
Again, do pardon, but I love to think such things through. Feel free, if I'm annoying you, to request my silence on these matters. ^_^
With love,
Mika

heheh, I realise that it doesnt necessarily mean the symbiote can have a link, although I said so.. bad wording. But I chose that a link exists between the two for this one. The creature is not a creation of Kagés own but rather a 'lucky find' during a raid on an independant R&D station, Kagé decided to nab it for himself, the suit deciding in its own that it wanted to be nabbed.
It feeds off of the energy source inside Kagé's backpack and, through Kagé's instruction (usually...), controls the tendrils peaking out over his shoulders there for engineering purposes.
And no, you're not annoying me. I'm not pretending to know much, I just make a character, their equipment and then use it how I like.
