Part of it was figured out on a keyboard, but for this song I plugged each not individually into Finale.
Thanks! ^_^ Would you like to elaborate on why it's "kinda" nice and which parts aren't really good? =o I love constructive feedback. :P I am by no means a perfect composer, and your input would be stellar! :D

cool, yeah I love keyboards, Finale is handy too.
o3o really?
okay, well it sounds a little artificial in the beginning with the choppiness. What's really good in thriller pieces is vibrato strings, in my opinion.
Hmm I love strings so much but I think some choral could/should be added in this.
Another opinion of mine, is if you really want a good piece; it can't sound artificial, though keyboards and programs do have their limits in flexibility, i understand that.
It takes practice to make music just right, and it's almost never perfect the first time ^^
I like your opennes to criticism and I hope I helped just a little.
It's a nice concept, what you have here <3 keep up the good work, I'll watch you because I expect to see more :p

Sure did. :P
Yeah, I can't really do anything about the quality of the virtual instruments. These are the best I can get my hands on. If I had a live orchestra at my beck and call then it would sound significantly better, I understand. I didn't use intensely vibrato-ish strings because I think those sound pretty silly if you use them throughout a piece.
I don't like doing choral things unless I've got words. :P (I have one choral piece up on FA though, emulated by strings since I don't have a chorus at beck and call either -- http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1461341/ )
Well, I wouldn't consider this recording to BE my piece. It's just a recording of it. :P If I managed to get a real orchestra doing it and it sounded a million times batter, that still wouldn't BE my piece, it'd be an interpretation of it. I by no means consider this to be the long and the short of the piece. I have the music notated so if a real quartet wanted to play it, they could. And it would probably be pretty darn awesome. This is essentially just a taste of the piece, because of how limited computers are in producing music.
I by no means think my music is "just right" but it's also definitely not my "first time" doing string quartets. This is a style I usually don't explore, yes, but I'm not exactly a newbie at composition. >.< Other pieces of mine are much smoother and less choppy, yes, because that's the style of them. Try these: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1548681/ ; http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1407517/ ; http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1362165/ ; http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1350452/ . They're all much less "choppy". And, though they're still artificial string sounds (what else can I do?) I think they manage to sound pretty good.
You did help. I promise as soon as I get real recordings of my stuff to put them up on here. :P Thanks for the compliment about the openness factor. I try my best. :P It would be arrogant of me to consider myself a great composer at this point, especially not having taken formal composition classes (though I have taken music theory classes, and I know quite a bit about that.)
Thank you! :D
