All that there has ever been
After years of struggling with thoughts of suicide and just general hopelessness I do feel like I'm on the right way to recovery.
But while I am aware things are okay and there is little to be upset about I have the lingering pain, the regrets, the feelings that things could have been different had I been "normal"
When sadness becomes a norm it takes a while to change that.
Just gotta let it go bit by bit

We all have moments where we feel as if we can't go on, or that we shouldn't go on. For me, that moment was May 6th 2007 when I was told that I was going to be discharged from the Army under Chapter 5-17. The only thing that kept me going, was my belief that things would get better. That when one door closes, another would open. On top of that, I believe that you can not rest eternally if you commit that act. You will instead be sent back to 'try again' if you will. Only when you have a complete life, or do something worthy of entrance, can you rest eternally.
And then there are these words...
When he gets to the gates.
To Saint Peter he will tell.
"One more soldier reporting sir,
I've served my time in hell."
And then there are these words...

*Hugs* One of the hardest things we can ever do, is let go of the past and not dwell on 'what might have been'.
I know that you fully understand that you have to look toward the future and see that there is still plenty of time for you to have an amazing and wonderful life, and I know that this will be a difficult journey at times; but you can can do this.
You have many friends here, who although we cannot be with you in person during your journey forward, we will be here, offering our support in whatever way that we can.
