So, I decided to attempt to paint in SAI.

But every time I've seen it, it's basically lineless flats with a certain kind of shading.

So, am I doing this lineless thing right? ouo

I mean, imo, I'm really proud of it as is. xDD

well what you've done is a lineless flat, essentially a graphic, a digital painting is a detailed digital piece that mimics the same sort of styles/effects and level of detail one would expect from a fully rendered scene in paint. It is very cute though, love the eyes

Well like I said, I've seen different painting tutorials, and this was just an idea from one I saw forever ago.
It's basically flats with a shading style that makes the piece look painted.

ah, well i don't see any shading at all except the eyes, this would be an illustration or a graphic(depending on the perspective and what it is used for) generally speaking.
