After I uploaded my first version of this cover (which uses Konami VRC6), I realized as an afterthought that, with the proper modifications, I could rewrite the chiptune as a 2A03 using only the default four NES channels. The trick was finding arpeggios that don't sound hideous, and hopefully I've accomplished that. Still, considering that licensed NES games were usually very arpeggio-averse, I'm not sure this chiptune would ever have been approved by Nintendo quality control. :P
