Today was the second day of the Festival of Steam in Thirlmere where I met up with
ozfoxaroo and spent the day with him. Pulling us from Picton into Thirlmere was the newly restored Beyer-Garratt Locomotive 6029. 8 years of restoration work has finally paid
off, especially as this is Australia's largest locomotive class at 30 metres long and weighing 264 tonnes, this particular locomotive carries the "City of Canberra" nameplate, as that was the city of her restoration and where she resides
