Once again, another 365 days had come and gone, and I'm now one year older, and for the umpteenth time, this milestone was recognized by my good friend from Miami, Funimal. So, let me quickly tell you the 'backstory' that led to his latest illustration...
During my lunch breaks at (janitorial) work, I would be sitting in front of this clubhouse kitchenette, eating sandwiches and washing them down with iced tea. Ordinarily, I would be sharing this time with my co-workers, but since all of them come from Latin American and Caribbean countries, I couldn't engage in any conversations with them, as they'd speak either in Spanish or Creole (neither language of which I'm good at).
The only living things that usually kept me company during my outdoor lunch break were the squirrels in the area - who would come down from the trees, and come up to me for a handout. It got to the point that I began to bring a jar of unsalted peanuts to give to the squirrels (and the occasional greedy blue jay, too). Said break turned into a regular juggling act - finding the time to feed up to four squirrels at a time, while trying to take a bite out of my sandwich or a sip of my iced tea. As soon as I'd finished said bite or sip, another one of those fuzzy-tailed rodents would be beneath me - standing on its hind legs, and waiting for the next peanut to be dropped next to it!
Naturally, when I'd told Funimal these true stories, he couldn't resist drawing my bobcat 'fursona', being rewarded for his act of generosity, by having one of the squirrels feeding 'Rob Cat' (a birthday cake) in return!
All I can say to 'Funimal' - not only for remembering my birthday, but for acknowledging it in his usual illustrious way - is this: "iMuchas gracias, mi amigo!" (Hey, I know some Spanish! I'm not a complete idiot, you know!) I'll look forward to seeing his next birthday drawing for me in 366 days... Yeah, just my luck, 2016 would have to be a 'leap year'!

I'm glad you liked it, Stallon. Remind me to tell another squirrel-related story, in which I have the ability to get the little furry rodents to 'flag their tails' (by wiggling my fingers at them), and other unusual tales about their unique behavior (such as laying flat on the ground, after they had their fill of peanuts)!
Yeah, the really nervous squirrels will 'flag their tails' and chitter at me, but I show them no harm. I just wanted their attention...
As for the 'sprawl-out', that would probably explain why they choose the painted concrete floor (under the canopy in front of the kitchenette where I eat my lunch), as it's the coolest place to be, on hot (or even just warm) days here in south Florida. But they do look cute when they are in that pose!
