Many new additions and tweaks since I last posted the two "Pro Plus" 12s, I think it's about time I filled y'all in on my ever improving bedroom sound system. I tried to lay out the photos of the speakers as they are placed in my room, but it was tough as they're laid out in what I like to call a "2.1 surround sound" configuration. Even though the sound card only processes in stereo, all the speakers around the room give an illusion of surround sound. It's quite the experience you'd have to hear to believe.
There are two systems, front and back. Both run off a dual stereo splitter, as opposed to a dual mono splitter, which would put only one of the 2 stereo signals to each independent system. The speakers are listed in their order stemming from the splitter. The systems include the following:
Front System:
-2 harman/kardon 2.5"s (top, center; top, right)
-Aiwa 8" Ported Sub (center, right)
-one of the two Pro Plus 12s, sealed box (center)
^with much experimenting, the subs work best set up this way. Currently I'm building a ported 12" box for the Pro Plus
Back System:
-Altec Lansing Dual 3" sub unit (center, left)
-2 JVC 5" mid/2" tweet combos (bottom, left; bottom, center)
-2 Altec Lansing Dual 1"s (top, left; bottom, right)
One noticeable omission is the front system's Gaming Edge 3" woofer, that had been used as a center unit. The volume control had gone bad on it, whenever you'd touch the knob it'd spit out loud static and the left output would go mute unless you delicately tweaked the knob just right. Very annoying to say the least. This system is working great now though. ^^
