The colours took way too long to settle on - this is probably the largest number of revisions I've gone through, but I'm pleased that the overall effect conveys what you said. And I'd be rather worried if a pizza really did sparkle like that - probably a sign of too much grease!

I can hardly argue with the end result, personally. That is some deligence, right there, and that is commendable. So, kudos!
(And, to be honest, I don't think Mikey would ever object to pizza, no matter what it was like. Just a hunch, if you can call it that. But everyone else would definitely have second thoughts about that particular indulgence! XD)
