That all depends on demand and on who owns the distribution rights? Hopefully it's DHX Media and not Universal, because if it is, we could be in for a VERY long wait for a DVD release. But there is still a few DHX shows that haven't been released on DVD yet, so there should still be some hope yet. You're very welcome. 'mega hugs'.
Ahh my, a dear dear show to me. The theme was so unique!
Interesting the slight variation in the opening theme at :24 and :38 with an additional added in guitar riff.
The one I have recorded on VHS from TV had this theme without the additions;

Loved Beehonie and Kissyfur

Dios bendiga tu talento siempre!!!!*hugs*

That Gus is a fat one!
i watched that show in 1985!
they repaired it back in the early 90's !
i was about 19 years old and still had my eyes glued to the tv!
who cares! Even to this very day i would watch Kissyfur!
I loved that episode where they found a bunch of candy bars!
those country hick cubs acted like they never tasted candy before and the expression on their faces hysterical and believable! Such perfect animation!
Whenever they found that jam in that old plantation house!
that was very hysterical too!

Those two episodes are my favorites too!Heee,heeee!Like you say,their hystericals faces are pretty funny! I still love Kissyfur and the old saturday morning lot...it's a shame,how they(producers & animators) have changed all !Thanks a lot my friend!!!!*hugs*
It's sad that we don't have kind of animation like that today!
I would say that kind animation and "themes"
mirrors an average kid's life in those times!
Just outdoors and meeting up with other kids and just having fun!
oh well... it's just like cartoons of today., they reflect kids just being pent up at home all day,playing video games mostly all day,or being on their computers most of the day also!
There are still modern cartoons that reflect the good old days but rare!

All hail Jean Chapolin and Shuki Levy! I recently rediscovered that intro on YouTube and now can't stop listening to it! The music's a dead catchy blend of a sea shanty and a hoe down, or that's how I see it. Kissyfur was one of those half-forgotten toons that still kinda leaves an impression on me. I thought of it when I saw Young Sherlock Holmes for the first time, for there's a scene where young John Watson is hallucinating and thinks he's being attacked by pastries. That's just like Gus's hallucinations in an episode where he's accidentally hypnotised into being afraid of food.
Some things to say about the intro;
1. It's kind of ironic that a show full of cute critters starts with images of a horrible train wreck.
2. This must be one of few Eighties cartoon intros that sets the scene visually, rather than explaining things via narration or song lyrics.
3. That swamp boat makes me think of Disney's The Rescuers. Anyone else think that?
