This was auctioned off today on eBay, and I thought of you. I logged on just in time to see it sell for $2,000. I wanted it SOOO bad, but didn't have an extra $2k lying around. :-P Thought it might give you another goal to shoot for, to add to your collection. Rajah is the sexiest tiger!

Le GASP! That looks pretty bitchin. Though prefer Shere Khan. XD But Rajah is pretty cool. Too bad I missed. But alas. I too do not have 2k to drop on that. XD If I hadn't bought Mufasa I would have. But I like my Mufasa more. X3 But.... I think I will add that to the wishlist to find one someday. X3 Though I think I would end up painting it. XP
Awe man! I had to be at work! I see some Shere Khan cels that sold in my price range! Two drool worthy ones too. Oh well. X3 Prints and lithographs are good enough for me when it comes to pictures I guess. Still.... may purchase that Scar character sheet if it is still for sale come next pay check. Just cuz it would look GORGEOUS next to my Scar Statue. XD
Shere Khan is my favorite tiger, but Rajah is sexier. I was only watching the auction for those Shere Khan cels. They all sold out of my price range. Two sold for $950 (I would've had to bid $1000 to outbid the other guy!), the other three went for $1100, $2600 & $3400. I hung around to see what would happen with the Rajah maquette. I wasn't quite as interested in that, but still. When it sold for $2000 I logged off. I couldn't afford anything. ...well, nothing I was interested in anyway.
That Rajah maquette was a real working model that the animators used in the making of the film. There were only 13 made, just for the artists, not for sale to the public. It had to have come from one of the people that worked on the film. You can't paint those, you'll ruin their value. You have to just be happy with scuffed up baby blue. :-P
I haven't purchased anything for my collection in several years. Everything I want seems to be out of my price range. I prefer pictures over statues (hanging very high on the wall for their own safety). I'd love a Scar maquette, but what if I break it!? It would make me sick after spending that much money. I'm too much of a klutz, and live in too small of an apartment, to have statues.
I really like that Scar character sheet too, but I already have four Scar pictures... If you get it though, post a pic of it hanging by your Scar maquette. I think it would look awesome too! If I buy another pic, I think it should be of someone else. Shere Khan is my first choice, but after seeing what those sell for I don't think that's realistic.

Yeah... I recognized some but I only liked the Shere khan ones. And I read after I posted that it was an actual one. So I wouldn't paint it afterward. Plus may never see another. Ah well. When I get my own place again I will start doing my clay work again. So I can make my own. XD
You could get some Shere Khan lithographs. The one I got was like $4 with coa. Lots of other lithographs too of other Lion King, Jungle Book, and other big cat characters. So is legit disney. XD Posters are also nice but rather big. But yeah. I want the Scar character sheet first. And if the Mufasa and Simba ones are still available after. I would get them to hang by the maquettes. Pictures. Pictures galore. I need to take more pictures... I rearranged my collection,

Yeah, there's a Shere Khan lithograph that I've seen come up occasionally on eBay, that is pretty cheap. Framing it would cost more than the print itself. It looks really nice, but I don't know... I'm indecisive. I did buy a Choco Egg figure of Scar from Japan, and one of Shere Khan. They are beautifully detailed, and they are exactly the right size to use as Dire Lion & Dire Tiger miniatures in Dungeons & Dragons. They recently came out with a Mufasa figure than I am on the lookout for now. I can't picture him as a monster, but I could use him as a mount. Haven't seen one come up on eBay yet, though. They are relatively inexpensive, not too fragile, and can double as game pieces. Yeah, I collect D&D miniatures, which I've been known to use on occasion. :-P
They have the highest quality paint jobs of all the cheap plastic toys that I've seen. You have to put them together, sort of like a puzzle, so they have numerous weird seam lines in them though. The selling point for me was that they are the perfect size for large D&D creatures. It's hard to find toys that are perfectly in sync with with D&D miniatures.
I saw those full sets on eBay, but I only want certain figures. I have Scar & Shere Khan which can be used as Dire Lions & Tigers, and Bagheera which I can use as a mount. I'm just holding out for Mufasa now. He's the newest release. Young Simba & Nala look weird as game pieces in a game that is set to scale. They are the right size for adult Dire Lions, but with the features of a cub. I mean, you can do whatever you want in a game like that, but I like to just use the adult figures for that.
I did buy a cub Simba from the "Disney Collector Packs Series." They are the perfect size for medium creatures in D&D. They also have Scar & Shere Khan in that set, but those are too small for adult lion & tiger figures. I still might get those just because they're cute though. And, they've just discontinued them. So, it's probably now or never.
