Name: Lapodent
Diet: Generally feeds off the fungus and moss growing on cave walls, though insects find themselves on the menu too. They have also been known to prey on baby bats that fall from the ceiling.
Habitat: They originally lived within the caverns of Dragon's Back Island, but after they began stowing away on pirate ships and merchant vessels, the lapodents found their way... everywhere. Though they prefer the dark, moist homes of caves, they're not above stealing their ways into the sewers of StarShooter citys, or roaming the streets above to get into any food source possible.
Other: Despite being PESTS, many do enjoy keeping them as pets. They have been known to get as big as house cats, but for the most part remain the size of rabbits. Lapodents are considered a rich king's feast in a poor man's diet, as there are many around (they breed like frickin' rabbits), but they're not exactly good eating. Wild lapodents range from volatile and attacking on sight, to bolting the second something large crosses their path, while domesticated lapodents really put the LAP in lapodents. Basically, they're lap pets.
