First to explain the title, Heath's was roughly the 50th one of these badges I've done. Gekko told me I should start counting them, and I started putting production numbers on the back. Holy crap, 50.
Whiteclaw Who was awesome enough to commission me at MFM and trust me to get it done outside of the con. His was fun and his character is adorable. The pink is more yellow IRL.

rattuspragmaticus This is an older joke badge ninnin wanted me to do for one of our mutual friends as a surprise. The joke is that he -is- actually straight but he gets the brunt of gay jokes often. WELL HAHAH GOOD LUCK getting people to believe you now! X)

But hey, my joke is that this fandom is an automatic +1 to anyone's Kinsey rating, so I suppose it's to be expected. In fact, Razerz once said that there are no straight male furries (you can only be two out of the three). Guess I never managed to convince her otherwise.
As for the badge itself, the scan doesn't do it justice. This thing would stand out at the Rio Carnival!

Haha! Awesome. :D Totally got your parts for your puppet today. Everyone was like ":O Dunno if we have any. Good luck!" Managed to find the last one, although it looks like one of the legs someone got too sand happy and is in need of repair before anything, thankfully I've gotta make the ears bigger so it's no problem at all. :D

Usually its a con thing, but a lot of people just like to collect them because they are small, fun, and you can hang them around without worrying about them getting messed up usually.
At a con you get a con badge with just a name on it but that doesn't say much about your character, so its funner to have something to wear that shows off your character which can also double over as a ref if you need one if you are getting drawn at the con. There's no requirement for anyone to have them at a con other than the fun and collectible factor. Does that help? :)

These are really wonderfully eclectic and energetic. I love how you've combined these elements in the badges and created layers. I had an idea for a long time to do badges with a sorta 3D/raised effect. It looks like you did that with some raised stickers and other raised elements. If I'm not off on that part, might I ask how you sealed/laminated/etc. the badges? That's the only part I can't figure out other then coats of sealer/glue.

They are actually 100% flat, despite how the scan might appear. The stuff inside is layered a bit, and the reflective stuff makes it look more raised and set back in the light. I'm not sure how one could do a really neat 3-d badge like you want, other than laminating the original art and sticking the 3-d stuff on top of the sealed artwork and telling the owner to be careful.
