2004 in Melbourne, Australia. Me, holding "Jitters", a Kangaroo Island kangaroo, the friendliest species of roos I've encountered so far. In another zoo, three of them were licking my hands through the gate as if they were dogs! They make Eastern Grey roos seem as snobbish as cats!

I figured they were captive, but I still find it remarkable how calm they appear to be. Some of the more exotical animals that i've seen in petting zoos over here like Llama's, Camels and Ostriches for example still were very shy of most human company despite them being captive bred.
And they could never match up to the high cuddle factor roos have. <3

Wombats are affectionate too? I thought they had similiar chracteristics as guinea pigs; stressed and shy. Atleast that's how I see most guinea pigs (And I see alot of guinea pigs almost every week at my college).
And I never liked koalas they have such weird, pushed in and cranky looking faces.

For SCIENCE!
Well, not that we conduct any tests on them... But they are there for the same reason we have mice, rats horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, parrots, dogs, fish, turtles, lizards and snakes at our college.
I'm there for the study of animal healthcare. And you can't learn everything just by book now can you? ;D

Don't even think about it. Zoo kangaroos are way too scared anyways to be touched. This photo was taken in a petting zoo in Australia, where the roos are more used to being hand fed and petted. Even there, I had to wait until nobody was around before picking the roo up. Some roos didn't let themselves be picked up.
Aww, that's sad, but at least I had a kinda close experience with a friendly Benett roo at Jászberény in Hungary where they had the same big fences and one of them came close to me and staring at me. He didn't let me to rub his nose, but he let me to rub his cute face which is strange =3
But I think I would like to spend more time with them. They're attracting me like they're my family. Sometimes they're my hope, my idols, some sort of Peace that I can have with them.
