Anyway, three years ago, back in 2008, I was replying to Rosenkreuz who is arguing that beasts have intellect on par with human beings as a premise for an excuse for having sex with them. In fact, most of the argument in this thread promoting the idea that sub-sapient beasts are somehow intellectual equals with human beings are being made by sick twisted butthurt bestialists angry about the truth in the artist's comic posted above.

Obviously, since you are so very very very late, three years late, to the party, you missed most of this, and thus you are just being a stupid whiteknight furry coming to the automatic defense of another fur without understanding why the sickos replying to this submission are getting their ass handed to them for promoting the idiotic "animals as smart as humans" line in order to justify their desires to fuck something lower in the animal kingdom.

So, unless you are trying to say that animals are as smart as humans in order to justify fucking them, and are deliberately coming to the defense and trying to curry the favor of dog-fuckers, STFU, and walk away. However I must say that you entirely misunderstand my intent. Neither your comment or the comment that replied to you had anything to do with being pro-beastiality as far as I can see. It seems like the point of contention had turned to the intellect of animals in comparison to humans, and I felt compelled to point out to you that intelligence isn't measured in what you know, but the relativity of what you know compared to who and what you are.

I was at no point defending anyone or anything, save perhaps the intelligence of animals, and even to that end I never said they were equal to or above humans, simply that they are smarter than we realize. I'm sorry you had jumped to the conclusion that I was rallying for beastiality based on that point, but it is my own fault for commenting on a subject long forgotten. I confess at the time of writing it was tired, which often leads me to ponder things at length far beyond than they need to, and start discussions that are whole unnecessary.

My apologies for biting your head off. But as you can see my the nature of the submission above, the artist was making fun of people who leave creepy comments on innocent photos of animals. Personally I believe Humans are the most advance intellect wise. They can do things that animals can't even begin to comprehend.

Meanwhile, there are things that animals can do, that we can't. Ever watched "Planet Earth", some of the things animals can do and go through is amazing.

We are only above animals by intelligence, speech, the sciences, pretty much everything knowledge based. We also have creativity down, and our ability to build things with our hands.

What animals have that we don't, are natural self-defenses (not including immune system), super physical capabilities, hearing, smelling, seeing, running, climbing, jumping, etc.

So in conclusion, every species is special.

...However, there are several that are HIGLY intelligent, and one or two that even rival human intellect. Possibly even crossing the border into sentience and self-awareness.

Notably intelligent animals are canids (although it depends on the species and breed. A golden retriever or wolf can seem almost human at times, whereas one of those little yippy bastards will repeatedly run into the same wall over and over again), crows (specifically ravens), certain tipes of ape (ESPECIALLY orangutans... ...>.=.> And us, though even that's in doubt sometinmes...), and cetaceans.

And with cetaceans, you of course have everyone's favorite - the dolphin. THESE guys are the major non-human candidates for sentience and higher intellect. It has been proven in both laboratory and natural settings that dolphins exhibit great deals of human-like behavior WITHOUT prompting or previous exposure to such from a human. They have also been show to have higher reasoning skills, as well as the ability to recognize abstract concepts such as the meaning of a question mark (though the fact that they can learn to communicate with symbols at all is astounding).
They have even been documented as showing signs of abnormal psychopathies (in individual cases much like humans) previously thought to be exclusive to us - for example, dolphins have been known to commit gang-rape, in which the female is OBVIOUSLY unwilling. This indicates that they have a similar concept of consent as humans, and therefore have some idea of themselves as individual beings. I'm not saying that there aren't animals that are possibly nearly or equally intelligent to humans.

In fact, my point was mostly that: EITHER WAY, regardless of whether you feel that animals can be equally intelligent, or if you feel that they're just dumb animals, the whole fuss and flailing over bestiality is stupid.

If someone is saying that it is rape, and causes mental trauma to the animal, then that implies that the animal must have a minimal amount of human-like intelligence. If an animal has enough self-awareness and mental capacity to be mentally harmed by it, then I think it is idiotic to say in the same breath that they are incapable of showing nonverbal signs of consent.

If someone is saying they're just dumb animals and can't consent to it, and it's the human taking advantage of the bond of loyalty the animal shows them, which is the only reason the animal doesn't bite or otherwise show they don't want to do it, then what's the harm? Who's it >hurting?< Unless it's physically damaging to the animal (in which case I'm right there beside anyone wanting to beat the shit out of someone physically abusing an animal) then it isn't hurting them.

I don't like it when people want to say "that's wrong to do" about anything that isn't causing anyone any harm. If nobody is being negatively impacted in any way, then how can something be "wrong?" Maybe it isn't the best thing to do, maybe it isn't necessarily the "right" thing to do, but I think there's grey area for things that maybe aren't "right" but aren't necessarily "wrong" either.
