Ok, by popular demand I have altered the eyes (the main problem people seemed to have was that the hilites made him look cross-eyed), and I widened his shoulders slightly. Anyway, hopefully this up-close and personal version, with fixes, will be less vexing.

To tell the truth--the problems they mentioned are very tiny compared to the compromises, mistakes and inadequacies I see in my own art when I look at it. Then too, when you have an actual painting in front of you, it's different from a small digital picture of it. Sometimes seeing the smaller digital version shows up things you don't see looking at it in person. For example--in person the wolf didn't seem so cross-eyed to me, but his eyes DID follow you around.
But thanks for the heartening words. As an artist, you know how it is to need the appreciation of others, especially when, if you're like me, you are already deeply cognizant of your failings.

Doesn't matter which version I see it is an incredible image. If I could sell my soul for the ability to create just one picture like this just one time I would without a second thought! The execution and attention for detail is mind blowing, or to put into words this handsome fellow might understand, "WATOGLA NA YUPIYA WO ITOPE!"
My friend
kittkitsune linked me to your piece. Gorgeous detail and shading along with rich depth of color here. The stare from those eyes is rather penetrating. I also like the realism of the costume he's wearing - very lifelike!
