She's one of the Rockin' Beats! :D http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Half_Note I love the loud color scheme and geometric symbols.
Ah! So this is Ember? How awesome! Very well drawn, too. Great colors with beautiful shading on the joints.
I liked the use of bows and ribbons in G1 through G3. (Though I honestly know nothing about G2). Right now it seems really only Apple Bloom shows a love for fun accessories. Well, aside from Spike and his adorable apron.
Thanks to my friend, Nishi, I was able to cosplay as Spike at BronyCon 2014 with the apron. I'd like to do so again. It was fun showing Spike love.
There were a lot of wonderful moments in G1. Moments I feel sad not many give so much credit, too.

You cosplay Derpy? How cool! May I ask you a question?
Do you feel Derpy is a negative for individuals with special needs or do you feel she is a positive?
I'm asking as I have her set to be a part of the 2015 presentation, if we are invited back. I want to use her as an example of inclusion through her original representation in "The Last Roundup". So I'm looking for feedback from other sources to ensure I'm going about it right.
G1 had a wonderful innocence to it. It was simple and fun.
Another episode I liked was where the older ponies got the baby ponies to use their imaginations when they saw a ball roll over the hill. Each baby had their own vision of what the ball could be since it was referred to as "Magical". In the end they were so caught up telling stories about what that ball could do that they never saw it pass by them and get popped in a nearby thorn bush.
Encouraging imagination and creativity is a wonderful thing. It's so wonderful how the arts can allow us to do or be anything.

Very positive for them, heck I wrote an essay on it I just handed in at school (had to meet specific things or I would have wrote much more) seriously, I know many disabled people who look up to her, because she is like them, yet being included in everything and loved by everyone, she is amazing for the disabled
yup I remember that one

I thank you very much for your thoughts on Ms. Hooves. It means a lot.
I've talked with a number of people with special needs on here and on other places who see Derpy as a character who exemplifies what many with special needs want to have. This being inclusion in the same work efforts as those who are deemed as being "Normal".
When they "Underped" Derpy a lot of us in the special needs community took it as, "So, Hasbro and society doesn't like an individual with special needs being openly shown doing real world work with everyone else?" It was quite saddening.
We do have Scootaloo who is perceived as disabled through "Flight to the Finish". However it is not canon that she is special needs. Likely out of fear of the perception. Sadly we need more special needs characters in shows like Derpy and Scoots who don't act like stereotypical characters with special needs.
Have you ever seen "Snowdrop"? That independent animation by Silly Filly Studios did a wonderful job of portraying a pony with special needs. Lots of special needs people look up to her.

We lucked out and got Meredith Sims (Writer and Voice of Snowdrop) to sit in on our panel at BronyCon 2014.
We had a very heartwarming moment where a young lady with CP saw my Snowdrop plush and asked to hold her. She then went on about how Snowdrop helped her feel better despite the ridicule she got. When she learned I was the lead panelist for the CWDTP panel she was blown away. But then she got a special surprise when I was able to bring Meredith over to talk with her. It was such a wonderful moment.
You're right. Parents were the ones who started the outrage on Derpy. It was sad, too, since the writer, Amy Keating Rogers, has a child with special needs. The hate mail she got was terrible. They called her an "Ableist" which is so far from the truth when you are raising a child with special needs.

The real trouble, I think, is we have begun down a path of dehumanizing people. We see each other as "Numbers" or "Lines of text" instead of living, breathing creatures who have feelings, hopes, and dreams.
When you fail to step back and think, "Is there a better way I could approach this?" or "I have nothing nice to say so I will leave the discussion as is." you incite trouble. Unfortunately so many individuals are so quick to get upset if their point-of-view is challenged that they'll verbally vomit over everyone and everything without even allowing for a true debate or even discussion on how someone else may view a particular topic.
I've been fortunate here on FA. In the over six years I've been on this site I have never once been attacked by anyone. Not once. This is quite shocking if you think of how you hear horror stories of people being told awful things on other social sites such as Reddit or even Tumblr.
