Long ago,  fudchan drew this commemoration of my 40th birthday party celebration at the grand Sonenalp Resort in Vail, CO. She oft cited it as one of her best pieces ever, and I think for a long time it was a featured submission on fudchan's FA profile. She had good cause to be proud of it, I think. :)

After quite a gap in time, I recently got in on a sketch commission slot, and among several options I gave her, she opted to revisit the commemorative piece and expound upon it, breathing life into the cute little unicorn lady. It seems the dragon's enchanting charms on the little lady are now rebounding, and now she's thawing his heart with some charming tales of her own. Such dreamy glowy lights give this scene such warmth, it's hard for me not to share a bit of feels with Rooth.

Even way back with the first commission, I found the unicorn girl quite adorable and appealing. At some point I had fudchan make an actual ref sheet for her, which I'll be posting shortly (finally!), in the hunt for a name so I can add her to my lineup. :) No doubt the pair will be drawn more often, as I somehow feel the need to express my romantic dreams vicariously through my own characters. >.>
