Helena Commission: A Double Arm Cyborg Ferret
Newest Commissioner who was sent to me by Wild Vine as another customer.
This unfortunately was not rendered as the client was only able to pay for one hour's worth of work. Costing the client Five bucks. most of the time was spent on detailing the cyborg arms which were meant to look more piratical and not looking like metal skin.
This is her character who was described as a slender ferret girl with a wide stance and is a double arm amputee. She tried to show me some reference work of a cyborg arm like painfully grafted into the body. And as crude and practical as the actual arm looked. It didn't seem logical to fuse it into the body. I watched a video recently of our first attempts at a two armed shoulder deep amputee getting fitted for those robot arms. So I took the idea that since his arms are mostly pre-programmed and require sensor controls from the surviving chest and back muscles to operate. Why not do something that would gruesomely violate a potentially cute creature. while she may not look like she is from a cyberpunk future. She looks like somebody with very practical looking and functioning set of robot arms.
Sorry for the rant. I just don't get the whole invasive surgery just to weld on a hunk of metal to human flesh and hope it sticks. This way the character can showery by taking off the harness, or dress herself, or sleep comfortably. Hell, the infections alone and rashes of metal rubbing against skin. Not sexy. But an armless ferret girl, probably better.
Ranting some more. But those are my thoughts on cyborg parts. Also what if the parts that actually are inserted in wear and tear from use or the skin gets weaker as they get older. Parts need to be replaced. And I'm not just talking about the mechanical ones connected to vital organs and nerves. I'm talking about the vital organs and nerves.
A simple harness solves that and maybe the most surgery needed is a brain port for complete control. Not a big piece of heavy machinery embedded into your side.
