P.C.A – Fall Formal The time had come for the first dance of the new P.C.A. school year, the fall formal. The event had started and was already underway. Students sporting their best outfits were enjoying the refreshments, dancing, and company, though some were enjoying it less then others.
Thomas Darkken and Ella Rukiko had come to the fall formal together. It was there first official date as a couple, Thomas sporting an ashen gray tux with his characteristic scarf and he’d managed to somewhat tame and comb down his normal mop top of hair, while Ella was wearing a fancier more formal version of her battle outfit, consisting of a neon blue and gold trimmed long sleeved robe like top that fastened going down the left side and went down to form a skirt like addition coupled with a pair of dressy black pants. She’d even braided her normally free flowing hair together to complete the look. They had paid the entrance fee and were standing together to the side of the dance floor; the only problem was that they both had no idea where to go from there.
Ella knew (from experience sadly) if she went out there and began dancing the way she wanted to then somebody would end up hurt and she didn’t want that. All Thomas knew about dancing was a little ballroom dancing he learned from his mom, but considering he had only one useable arm at the moment and never had been able to dance like that without ending up tripping and taking him and his dance partner down with him he really didn’t think it was a good idea. So, there they stood on the sidelines trying to figure out their next move.
Thomas sighed and mental berated himself “This is a disgrace… it’s the same as when we were still just best friends… I thought if I managed to tell her how I felt it would all turn out right but this…” he shook his head slightly to clear it “Alright then! Be it a stupid idea or suicidal one I’ve got to try something to move this ahead or I’ll just be back where I started!” summoning up all his resolve he turned to Ella and managed to give a shaky smile “E-Ella would you… maybe… l-l-like to dance?” he managed to finally say.
Ella smiled “Sure Thomas! I was actually hoping you’d ask!” and they walked onto the dance floor just as a slow song came on. Ella placed her hand on his shoulder and took his good hand with the other and slowly they began to dance, moving in rhythm to the music. As they looked into each others eyes they once again found themselves alone in a world where all they need was each other, and they danced on.

Al Stahlzahn was having a wonderful time dancing with his date, his beloved Dylan Ross. Al had gone a rather simple route wearing a plain light blue long sleeved formal shirt, a pair of black dress pants (designed to help slim down his species natural bellbottom legs), and a black tie, as of the moment his horn was calm and limp against his back. Dylan had gone a little fancier with a sleek black tux and tie; he’d also combed his hair and placed it in a ponytail. And as of the moment the two were dancing together to there hearts content.
Al gave a blissful sigh as he looked lovingly into Dylan’s eyes, a slight blush playing on his face. He wasn’t use to being in public like this, due to his shy nature he wasn’t really use to being in public at all, but being here with Dylan seemed to make everything okay.
Just then a houndour girl sauntered up to the dancing couple and threw a seductive look at Dylan, and said in a voice that made her intent all the more obvious “Hey handsome, why don’t you drop the horn head and you and I make some embers together?” The charmander in question looked positively furious to have someone dare say the about his Al and was about to tell this girl off, but something beat him to it.
Al, who at the moment had his back to the intruder, had heard this comment and had looked down, he was the type to avoid conflicts but he was angry at this girl for interrupting his lovely moment with Dylan. Suddenly, without Al’s knowledge, his horn reared up, jaws wide and teeth bared making what could only be described as a non spoken “You have five seconds to get lost or I eat you alive and spit you out” threat to the houndour.
Not expecting this from the shy withdrawn looking mawile the girl did the smart thing, let out a frightened “Yipe!”, and beat a hasty retreat. Al’s horn returned to its limp position as Al turned seeing the retreating houndour and tried to piece together what had just happened. Dylan simply smiled, and turned Al back around so they could resume dancing.

Les Furtein was in a grumpy mood. He hated formal events, even more so dances. Okay it wasn’t formal events he hated so much as it was formal clothes he mused as he was returning with drinks for him and his date. At least in his normal outfits he was able to slightly hide and draw attention away from his girly hips, legs, and butt, not so with formal ones.
He muttered angrily as he was dressed out in the only formal outfit he had, a sleek off white tux that if anything only made even more painfully obvious his girly lower half. He didn’t even want to bring this stupid outfit along, but mom had insisted saying he might want to wear it to a dance or on a date, both things he’d had never thought he’d do and go on before meeting Kat.
Ignoring the few whistles and comments of the guys who’d come to the dance hoping to pick up a date there and assumed he was one of the available girls, Les returned to his lovely, newly evolved, pikachu girlfriend Kat O’Sullivan. Who had gone with a lovely formal dress in a beautiful emerald green, to say that Les was awestruck by how beautiful she looked would have been an understatement.
As Les got back with the drinks Kat smiled “Thank you.” And took hers as Les resumed his position next to her, feeling more then a bit awkward in his tux when compared to how ravishing Kat was. Les took a sip of his drink and considered asking Kat if she would like to dance, just then an arrogant looking Tauros sauntered up to them from behind and gave Les a look like a butcher considering a piece of meat. Just as Les was about to ask him what the hell his problem was the guy spoke up “Hey babe, why don’t you and that hot ass of yours meet me later and I’ll show you a real good time!” he gave an arrogant wink with a smile and started to walk off.
Les seconds later got over the shock over what was just said to him and looked like he was about to jump and beat the idiot to a pulp right there in front of everyone. Suddenly Kat leaned forward and gave him a kiss on the cheek and all his anger subsided, she then smiled and looked him in the eyes “It’s okay… remember his face, we’ll find him after the dance and beat him up together!” she gave a small giggle as Les smiled and kissed her back “I love you so much…”

Husk sighed slightly, he had managed to convince himself that going to the fall formal with Traya would be the perfect way to move they’re relationship along, and here he was just floating there next to her doing nothing. Husk, knowing little about formal wear, had opted for a loose fitting tux (so to hide his chest) and at Nina’s suggestion and urging a red bow tie but now, due in part to a few stray snickers he was hearing behind his back, he was thinking Nina had played a trick on him.
Traya was radiant as ever in Husk’s eyes, she was wearing a formal long sleeved shirt and a long cut skirt, both done up in shades of pink, and it just made her look even more beautiful to him. The only thing he had problems with about this dance was that nether of them seemed to have any idea what to do.
As Husk watched Thomas and Ella go waltzing by them, lovingly looking at each other, the obvious finally dawned on him. Husk drew an unnecessary breath (due to him not needing to breath) and turned to Tray, knowing full well that this was a suggestion that could so easily backfire on him it was almost suicide, and asked “Traya? Would you care to dance…?”
Traya blushed and looked away “I-I don’t know if I could… t-there is so many people there…” she casts a nervous, shy looks onto the dance floor. Husk sighed and tried to think of a way to encourage her, not exactly his specialty by any means “It’s perfectly alright if you’re worried what they might think…” Traya looked up to Husk “Really?” Husk nods “Really. In fact I have no idea how to dance myself.”
Traya looked a Husk slightly confused “Honestly? And if you don’t know how to dance why are you suggesting it?” Husk sighed “Yes honestly. As for why I’m suggesting it… if we just spend the entire time floating here then we have wasted the entrance fee, your time, my time, and an evening the was suppose to be a nice event for both of us… right” Traya though this over for only a moment then smiled at Husk “Right, let’s dance then.” Husk smiled “Good now… whoooah!” Husk cried out as Traya suddenly clasped his hands in hers and leads him onto the dance floor. Husk smiled slightly as Traya lead him around the dance floor, her dancing divinely and him struggling to keep up, and thought to himself “Well this is moving the relationship forward… I think… whoah!” he mentally cried as Traya dipped him low and continued dancing.

On the sidelines of the dance were two mon trying to remain as inconspicuous as possible… and failing at it miserably due to their sheer size. They were Anna Osore the Aggron and Greg Avaler the Swalot.
Anna was dressed in a sleek black dress with a simple elegance to it, Greg was wearing a custom made dark blue suit that actually made him look slightly dapper. The two were enjoying each others company, Anna making polite small talk with Greg doing his best to answer with a ever present blush on his face and his mind somewhere else.
Specifically his mind was on Anna's sheer beauty. He'd never been on a date before, or even had a girlfriend. Every girl he'd asked had turned him down, normally insulting his size, eating habits, or general species... and yet she'd accepted, like some wondrous angel out of the clear blue sky she accepted his offer and was here with him at the dance.
It then dawned on Greg that they hadn't done much other then have brisk conversation. This was a dance and it probably would be a good idea to share at least one dance with this beauty.... but... he'd never danced before and he knew he had a decided lack of grace when it came to moving in any fashion. And the simple thought of dancing with this goddess was nearly more then he could conceive.... but he couldn't help but recall his dads old advice "Son you never know what something tastes like until you dare to eat it."
Greg never knew if his father meant that figuratively or literally but he interpreted it as a variation of "Nothing ventured nothing gained" .... he hoped.... but it was time to put it to the test! Greg took a deep breath, which do to his size sounded like a dying vacuum cleaner, and managed to ask her "Anna? Would you.... possibly..... care to dance?"
Anna gave a kind smile "Of course Greg, I'd love to." and they slowly made their way to the dance floor. Anna had never danced before so her steps were a little awkward but then so were Greg's so it balanced out. The other dancers made way for the slightly unsteady duo for good reason.
A passing Zangoose tread a little too close to the two and found out why. They weren't sure which of them did it, they might have stepped on it at the same time, but the next thing they knew they had a zangoose hopping next to them clutching his foot crying out in pain "Ahhhhhhh! My foot! You crushed my foot! Ahhhhhh!" They both made attempts to apologize at the same time but the zangoose was already hopping off shouting about his foot.
They looked at each other for a moment, concern for what had just happened showing on their faces, but since the victim had already left they really didn't have much they could do. So they chose the best option at the moment... they kept dancing, though the rest of the crowd now maintained a slightly greater distance then before.
