Hey there guys! It's that time again for some new art and I'm especially excited with this one. Along with Penelope, I also did some fan art of Carmelita Fox as she appeared in Thieves in Time. Yeah... I'm still not a big fan of her more sexualized look in the game. It's not that I'm a prude and am against sexy designs, it's just that it doesn't seem like she would wear something like that, at least out on Police duty you know? But with that aside, I really wanted to draw her and see how she'd turn out and, I'm quite happy with the result! Yeah, I realized that I forgot to add her Sheriff Badge... *doh!* but yeah.
I think that Grey Delisle did a great job voicing her. I still prefer her Sly 2 voice but this voice is definitely a close second. But is it just me or was Carmelita so angry throughout the whole game (when she wasn't flirting with Tennessee lol)? Haha nevertheless, I'm glad she was a part of the cast though I wished she had more missions.
Anyway, I hope that you all like how she turned out. I had a blast drawing her! Stay tuned for more artwork coming soon!

Another wonderful art piece!~ And I agree with you too with the re-design. The skirt is the biggest issue with me. Her design in Sly 2 was much more practical. She even changed her clothes according to the weather and setting. But in Sly TiT (lol tit) She's running around during the Ice Age in an outfit like California Club Girl. x3 But games are games. Can only sit back and look past all the cons and enjoy the pros.

I just felt it was out of character... -w- I mean, if they gave her more of Lara Croft look (with shorts, if they really wanted her to show some leg), then it'd make more sense since Carmelita is pretty much an action girl.

I am so torn about Sly 4 Carmelita. She's got my favorite voice in the series, and I feel like they got her cutscene model just right in the face, but you're absolutely right about the outfit. It's silly and impractical, and if they were going for sexy, she already had that belly-baring number to begin with...which I guess was already a bit unbelievably fanservicey, but it feels so much...mildwr in comparison.

No doubt Sly had something to do with encouraging her to try out a skirt being her boyfriend and all, back in the 70's it was mandatory for all women police officers to wear a skirt until of course they found it impractical to subdue a criminal in so they made it optional the skirt is really more of an office type look me thinks. I seriously think it's no more prudish than wearing a zip-up tank top to work however i believe Carmelita should be able to wear whatever she Goddamn want to wear without being scrutinized.
Oh and Grey Delisle did the best job voicing Carmelita thus far, Alésia Glidewell barely even tried to sound Latina.

I don't necessarily have a problem with Carmelita wearing a skirt, it's just that after seeing how her character is, she seems to be built of practicality. The pants made sense and her boots made sense (they weren't high heeled). So when Carmelita got this drastic change in appearance, it really did throw me off a bit. But character-wise, she's still a great character.
As for her voice, I liked Alesia Glidewell. The voice tone was really nice and Icould see it matching Carmelita. But I also liked Roxanne Ortega's take as well, she just need to add more emotion to her but the tone/accent was halfway on point.
I liked Grey Delisle in some parts except when she got really heated, it made me think of Lupe from My Gym Partner's a Monkey haha.
