Purple guy be the murderer of the children. He was an employee at Freddy's and he had used the golden Freddy suit to hide himself before. Later, in fnaf 3, as revealed by the mini sequences, he went to dismantle the old suits, so the spirits possessing them would never walk again, but they grew restless and chased him into the back room. He tried to hide by getting in that yellow Bonnie suit, thinking it would scare them off, but the spring-locks activated and killed him. Now his spirit is trapped within that suit along with his body and the children's spirits are at peace if you did the good ending. That's just what I believe at least. I'm not saying this is the truth.
No. Phone guy tells you that one of the suits were stolen and something bad happened, an investigation is going on, and the restaurant is closed. Now, it does suggest that Jeremy might the killer, because phone guy also says on night 6, "What on earth are you even doing there?" and after that, he gets fired. He also says he himself is gonna take the night shift. After that, night 7, a new guard takes the shift and is fired immediately. Now, back in FNAF 1, Phone guy says he used to be the night guard, and he mentions an issue back in 87. Mike is new, and he gets fired after night 7 as well.
Night 7 of FNAF 2 is actually "night zero" chronologically, the events of "night 7" actually happen before the 6 nights of the game. That's when the other four children are killed.
Mike gets fired for tampering with the animatronics. Key word "tampering" aka breaking them down, to create Spring trap. Phone guy was killed by Mike, hence his night 4 death.
In the "good ending" you see the 4 animatronics, and the puppet's spirits being freed, AS WELL as a spirit from the golden freddy wearer....That would make 6 kills. Five kids, plus one adult...phone guy is dead. He's the final person killed

I see 5 not six. Five souls of all 5 children. One of them being the birthday boy. And I do not think that mike created springtrap, because springtrap was just one of the hybrid suits that the killer hid in and the metal parts activated and killed him. Springtrap wasn't created as what he is. He is the result of a karma fueled accident.

And you're correct! Hybrid suit indeed. Created from various parts of all animatronics. He was scared and got into the suit, forgetting about the flaw that phone guy mentioned...thus he died...and now possesses the Springtrap suit seen in FNAF 3. Which takes place 30 years after the first game
