Hahaa, it could be! xD I certainly was a tad upset when I heard some things were changing. At first I was excited for some changes, though, like the Stance of the Spirited Crane, but then, once I got to experiencing the changes, enjoyed the old ways better. Crane stance is just a bit too clunky feeling for me. ;~;
And the Uplift cast time made me sad. And the fact you can't annoy people by placing healing spheres around them any more. :V
But oh weeell.
But, actually, this was started long, long ago, before my Monk ways were interrupted by Blizzard and their changes. I always imagined her starting at, like, a battlefield of Alliance things, or maybe a terrible sha creature that's threatening the lives of everyone on Pandaria.
Whatever it is, she's mad and is ready to pwn some faces. :D

I wasn't around to experience some of them but I did see some of the "heavy" ones likes Ring of Peace. in MoP Monk (Tauren) was so damn amazing... I could solo the Troll-Warbringers as a tank with some effort but it took a while. She was almost unstoppable. Then came the "Item Squish" and she felt as squishy as a mage. I love pulling tons of mobs and AoEing them down but after the squish I found myself near death all the time in WoD.
After hitting lvl100 I found out healing was a huge hassle and even nerve-wrecking, her DPS seems to be suffering for some reason and tanking feels less than awesome before the changes and the squish. She use to be my "beloved" character/class but not anymore.

Aww. I only really play MW, but I asked around and thought BM was pretty ok. It's too bad the squish made you squishy. I used to love Brew Masters, even though I only tanked a few times as one back in SoO.
And I heard the thing about WWs pulling less than they used to. I think they're trying to balance them out or something, which, I suppose, would be good (But not for us, hahaha...). But, even now, last I heard they were doing ok still. Not as good for PvP anymore, but in PvE they're still quite viable. I think.
And, gee, you can say it again about the healing ;~; Everything seems to flow a lot... less. Like, I stuck around for a long while to try and see if it was just something I needed to get used to, but with the stance changing being the way it is, and all the other little things, healing has become less enjoyable. I mean, it's still fun, you can still do really good, but I don't think it's where it used to be on the 'fun scale.'
And ye. I really love monks and all, but the changes are... changes. It's really gotten me out of the groove recently, and I've found myself playing less and less. It's been eight years, but maybe now would be a good time for me to play other games, while the glory days of monks are still alive and well in my memories. xD

Yeah its super ironic to me how my Monk won my heart so fast and then I lost it just as fast due to changes. I only like her now for awesome transmog. (Which I rarely see on my server) My monk used to be a tank/healer because it was actually FUN back in MoP. I could actually heal with meele-hits only but not anymore. everything and everyone takes too much damage. After seeing how horrible I did at the 1st boss in the Grimral Depot I just say NOPE to healing.
I've had to re-spec a lot of my guys to specs that don't actually wreck your nerves or something. Like my paladin. I just cant deal (and refuse to) with how bad their AoE healing is so I went back to tanking... which is ironic because I hated paly-tanking due to all the "misses". After they got rid of hit rating and expertise paly-tanking became amazing. (to me at least)
In a nutshell, its like what some people are saying. The game seems to have "revert" back to its Vanilla days or something. You cant just ROFLstomp your way anymore.

Ye. A lot of the fun specs are no longer as fun as they used to be. With MW, it just feels like everything drags too much and nothing flows well anymore, and I suppose that's what's happened to other classes, too.
But I suppose with downfalls comes good things. Like you said, Pally healing is stupid, but now the tanking is pretty fun. At least they did a few things right. xD
And yeah. Everyone's been waiting for the 'Vanilla Revert,' but I suppose it ain't some people's cups of tea. I actually found it really fun to do things easily, at least on the lower levels of things. It was the flow of things that kept me going. And the hard parts were the Heroic (MoP Heroic.) things, which not a lot of people even cleared, so it's not really like the game lacked any difficulty on higher levels (Except maybe for those who cleared Heroic bosses on the first/second week. But the overwhelming majority of players can't do that). If the game was as easy as the people complain about, everyone would have had Heroic Garrosh. But you do actually have to try if you want to get up to the best of the best. For the people who just play for a fun thing to do, I thought WoW covered it perfectly. I don't feel it as much anymore.
Ahh, well. It's still ok. And great for the people who've been waiting for the revert, ha.

Maybe its because I didn't play MoP at launch but when I did heroics it was a joke to me... but I'll take your word that wasn't the case in the early days of MoP. I kinda know because I remember doing Heroic Dead Mines and running out of mana at Admiral Ripsnarl and wiping to him with my guild.
I don't like things being neither too easy nor too hard but the game has been kinda mixed now to be slightly more "serious" than fun and "easy" and like I said, it has forced me to respect my guys because of it. I consider that good and bad.
