Working on my first fursuit, I decided to make the body first. 24 hours straight of non stop sewing by hand and cutting. I decided to use 30lb kevlar thread to stitch everything up. It's twice as strong as nylon and doesn't stretch.
Next I'll be working on the tail.

From my understanding, size 69 *gigity* is the standard thread size, and the largest a normal sewing machine will use. But I used size 80 with a sail boat needle to reduce fabric shear. Most of the stitching, especially around the legs is a blanket stitch, which is the strongest one I can do by hand. I always over engineer everything I make, so I'm hoping it lasts a while.
