19 years here since the passing of my maternal grandmother. I learned after her death that she had been the anonymous benefactor that paid my tuition bill for the last semester of my undergrad degree. My finances and financial aid had come up about $600 short. I was obtaining the paperwork to withdraw when I learned the bill had been paid.
She lived on a very meager pension from the company that manufactures Chinet paper plates and social security. I had been her live-in caretaker for the last 6 months of her life. I still think of her and what she did for me, much as I'm sure yours influenced you.
