In my mind, she's a were-camel, or a human who just bathed in a magic oasis and ended up with a bit of the spirit of Asia Minor in her! I love her expression, she's meant to be kind of putting her hand on the back of her neck in a "Well gosh darn, I just d'nt know what t'say..." attitude. So that's why the arm and fingers are off.
