THESE GUYS ARE STILL UN-NAMED SO IF ANYONE HELPS ME WITH NAMING THEY'LL GET A FREE CUSTOM AND FIRST VIEW OF ALL THE TRAITS
Species Info:
* They have large leaf like umbrella tails with a split tip to prevent hindering their line of sight.
* Their tail is mainly used for regulating temperature and keeping cool, but they also use it for absorbing water, usually by drifting down a river or floating around in a lake.
* Thicker tail bases tend to have 1-4 tail fins at the base.
* Tufts of fur grow around their shoulders, sprouting from their shoulder blades, or sometimes just below the shoulder blades.
* They have very long arms, with the paws reaching their knees at a relaxed and open state, paws can be with or without pads.
* Their feet have only two toes each, and always have pawpads that cover the entirety of the bottoms of their feet.
* Moth like antennae on their head are used for breathing, even in water, so they don't have noses or nostrils.
* Their eyebrows are bulbous and velvety, and rarely have any size/shape differences, and their antennae come out from the tops of them.
* They also have whiskers on their faces because they trust their touch more than their sight, and can actually feel magic and supernatural things with them.
* There is a second layer of "but fluff" before their tails becomes visible.
* Ears are always long and floppy/lopped, helping them keep cool, and if you couldn't tell yet they have trouble keeping cool, they naturally tend to overheat, though no one has figured out why this fault in their species was developed in the first place.
* They use their tails for hunting aswell, using it as a buoy while they hunt for prey under water.
* Females use venom to hunt prey(usually fish) and also digest their food better, while males usually just eat plant matter at the bottom of bodies of water.
* Even though this species lays eggs, they still have belly buttons, though not many understand why, since their eggs are too solid/opaque to see into, so the process of the embryo inside the egg is still a mystery.
* When reproducing, they lay a clutch of eggs that resemble stones and jewels, most commonly looking like pearls or opals, most believe this is to help protect the eggs from predators by looking less like food, and the clutch usually contains about 6-10 eggs.
* Parents usually carry their eggs between the two layers of their butt fluff, but they have been sen to carry them between their shoulder fluff aswell.
* Carrying their eggs is far easier for females, because they can use their sticky venom to keep the clutch together and stuck to their fur, while males have to get crafty and use plants to hold them either like a sack or like jewelry.
* once a male and female have successfully made a clutch together, the male will often leave the female on her own to raise their offspring while she's still exhausted from laying their eggs, though this often leads to divorce like behaviour where the clutch gets passed back and forth, because the females tend to not take this so well and will hunt down the male and ditch the eggs with him as payback.
The paws holding the huge clutch of eggs will be redrawn digitally and coloured to show the different looks of the eggs!
