I actually had to stop and think about this before answering. It wasn't something I'd really put into consideration before! But I ultimately decided that there wasn't really any cause for it to be removable, so even though there appears to be a gap between her mask and the rest of her head, it's still a fixture of it. Similar to how Hex's head is attached to the rest of her body unless she herself removes it.
