Essentially, just show up to my streams at http://peterandcompany.tigerdile.com on nights when I'm penciling a comic page with cameo slots available (I'll always announce when I'll be working on these pages ahead of time so people can plan to attend). When it comes time to figure out the list of cameos, I'll just ask folks in the stream if they have a character to volunteer. If there's more characters than slots available, a random number generator picks who wins a spot.

Just wondering how much it costs to get a permanent spot... might take four years for me to get the money together if it is over 20 dollars...

The only time I ever offered permanent roles for characters created by other people was during the Kickstarter campaign back in 2012, and it was the $1500 reward tier. So if someone were to want a permanent position now, that's how much I'd put it at, just to keep it fair to those who pledged (and we did have a few).
