Basically, I am designing a new form for myself (cause quilavas be copyrighted, probably more on this later.)
BUT- I am unsure of what design to pick for this, so I just drew up some random crap and threw it out there.
If you have one you really like, let me know (personally I like 3 and 2 a bit, but whatever)
Also feel free to let me know about the rest of the design in general, but I'm pretty sure I'm keeping the body/wings as is now.

hm, the point of 5 was to fix the problem you're bringing up about 4.
I'm not sure if I could properly 'separate' them the way you're thinking without the two looking almost identical.
Also, I know I do want them all to be floating a distance away from my rear, so they wouldn't be directly attached

Its very interesting to see you step away from your Pokémon roots to find yourself a character you can truely call your own.
Its something I myself have struggled with in the past aswell but if you can find something close enough; yet distancing (Which I think you have).
An Interesting design choice I find the wings and tail(s), are they attached by strings and thus freebobbing, or are they attached by those curved sticks you sometimes see balloons tied to?
If its the latter I can understand since that would make them usable and not bobbing and aqueaking about; buuuuut I might be thinking a bit to hard into it.
As for my personal choice.
I'd say #2 or #5 (if you bring the ammount down to 3)
The others are far too extravagant for your design; clashing even and #5 is a bird's tail.
I hope you can find something you can settle on though.
Good Luck!

the wings/tail are attached by strings, they are just very slightly filled with helium, so they will float at about the same height as the body (mostly just cause I don't really want to deal with figuring out where they should be)
butyeah, just getting input on the tails. other than that, I'm pretty sure I like the rest of the design exactly as it is

I would say 4 this time, because I feel that it would make drawing and coloring in layers a little more simpler.
That way, you don't need to worry so much about multiple transparent colors overlapping in close spots, but just one peice to focus on.
Besides, too many strings could lead to unwanted tangling. :V
