I have had an idea floating around my head for a while, to make a full-sized leg band for myself, modeled after those used to track migration and populations of wild birds.

Currently, the band is somewhat lighter than I expected it to be, and is surprisingly comfortable and unobtrusive. I will be removing half of the washers once I get a drill bit large enough to create a hole for the bolt, and the bolt itself will be cut down. The bolt/washer is meant to resemble a rivet somewhat. The band is currently solid, and I have to unbolt it to remove it, though a future version will likely be split on a hinge and held together by magnets for quicker removal. I will be adding hook strips to the inside so I can attach some soft material inside the band for comfort. I will also be engraving some markings and painting the band. Once I get the kinks worked out of making these, I may even consider these for commissions.
