Another dramatic lighting study; I really enjoy painting these and I think I'm learning a lot, so I probably will continue to paint one direct study each week. This one I spent more time on than last week's.

Haha nooo, Amy Acker is a far more gorgeous human being than I. This can be directly evidenced with a picture of me being awkwardly overjoyed to meet her.
Panopticon was the title of the Person of Interest episode this cap originated from. :) Neat to know that, I didn't actually - makes sense in context, because that this point, the protagonists were imprisoned within the necessity to live out fake cover identities in as outwardly mundane a fashion as possible, to hide from an AI that wants them all dead. Being trapped in that situation certainly is a prison of sorts. And thank you!
Oh, rad - the POI wiki has a description for the origin of the episode title: "A panopticon is an architectural form developed for prisons, as conceptualized by philosopher, economist and theoretical jurist, Jeremy Bentham in 1791. It is designed such that one guard can keep all (pan-) under observation (-opticon), without the guard being observed. Panopticon is said to derive from the mythical Greek giant with a hundred eyes, Panoptes - the hundred eyes made him an effective watchman. The term panopticon identifies a society or an area where all the citizens are under pervasive, ever-present surveillance by unobserved, but untiring entities: a surveillance state."
That makes even more sense. (The two competing AIs in the show have access to the NSA surveillance feeds and see/hear almost everything through web cams, traffic cams, cell phones, etc, etc. It's a really neat show if you've never heard of it!) Thanks for prompting me to investigate!
