While I'll admit I've not watched Secret Squirrel, I do like the look.
and there's something about him that I think calls out to a film noir style!
Plus i do love writing cheesy diologue.

Well, the old one was very "Hanna Barbara", it had that typical 60's HB style, there was a main bad guy called "Yellow Pinkie" (a little pun on Goldfinger:P). It was eirther a standalone show, or a mixed one where they showed episodes of Secret Squirrel along with Atom Ant episodes.

In 1993-1995, the "new" Secret Squirrel on CN wasn't a standalone show, but rather a part of the, at the time, very popular "2 Stupid Dogs" show. The style got simplified, the humor in it became more "90's", and the end result was, in my oppinion, funnier than the original. Despite the inferior animation it had a certain style to it.

I'd have to disagree that the new version had "inferior animation". The art and character designers were sleek and stylized, with a much better look than the original. The animation itself -- the actual movement of the drawings, as opposed to the drawings themselves -- was higher-quality, as well -- HB learned a LOT in the intervening decades.
Wasn't technically cartoon network, but the show "2 Stupid Dogs" would include an episode of Secret Squirrel in it.

Sadly, no. It was a one-shot. It was also a male panda. Wore some fighter-gi pants, if I remember, and nothing else. Escaped from the Zoo (why were there Zoos when all the people were animals, I'll never know) and went around blasting loud music and being a royal pain the ass. The kicker was he's an endangered species, so SS couldn't do anything to harm him. SS ended up getting him to beat himself up, and then knocked him over with a pillow, arresting him for "endangering an endangered species."

Now you've seen Secret Squirrel. At least the 90s version.

And this is a damn good one, too!
But I also enjoy the other ideas the voices have sometimes... like the eye-patch wearing adventurer Herm-kitty trying to adapt to modern society... not to mention your adventuring Herm-tigress who's got a lot of 'support' she's going to have to dole out to princesses. And there's always the laughs the pictures of chubby cheetah Genzie a Ninja Nurse Maid can bring up. :3

Gorgeous artwork, and the prose, so delightfully purple, really makes the old' Noir feeling jump up and grab you.
(Which reminds me of an observation I made a while back: If your a Noir detective, and a dame walks into your office, shoot her dead before she cam part those luscious ruby red lips of hers and say one word. Trust me, brother, dealing with the murder rap, which you may be able to get downgraded to homicide if you're lucky, is less trouble than whatever she was about to drag you into. Hells Bells, if you show a history of Dames getting you into life-threatening peril, you might even be able to get off on a self-defense plea.)

So what if it's cheezy? The idea of combining Secret Squirrel with Noir films is a clever one, and I love the image your opening monolouge creates. Not many people realize just how hard creating the right kind of cheezy dialouge for an authenic Noir, really is. It would be like trying to write Star Wars, having last seen one of the movies, about fifteen years ago.
sheesh... I forgot to check FA for almost 2 weeks since your comment...
As for ideas... I've got a pair of femmy otter boi characters that are begging to be drawn... and the only reason I bring them up is because I don't recall you ever drawing an otter, and your style just seems perfect to capture them on paper.

Mr. Squirrel would never be aloud on TV these days, all the "Feminists" (The ones who could give 2 shits about rights and want to bitch people out and have an excuse.) would flip out at his flashers trench coat.
"So you're not sexist you just think women should have more rights than men..."
Stefan S. 2006 The same conversation happens A LOT with any "isum" or "ist" you can think of...
