Very small change, but very quick and easy. You'll notice that the knees collapse much less with the new picture, while the old knees fold like a soggy phonebook.
The knee's deformation is not great, but it's a lot better than before. After a bit of research, I determined that proper anatomical deformation around the knee area is actually ludicrously complicated and difficult to get right. So, I cheaped out with this solution that's ridiculously simple and still provides a presentable result.
Basically, I just inserted another joint just a short bit below the normal knee joint in the skeleton.
This means the change only affects the extreme deformation angles, unless I want it to affect others. All my little posing scripts work exactly the same as before because I only have to rotate this extra joint when I want to adjust the knee in these special, extreme cases. There's still a bit of pinching at the outer edges of the knee, but it's way less noticeable than before. I can probably even adjust the two joint's angles a bit further to reduce the pinching further, but at the cost of getting the butt to sit on the heel.
...Those angluar shapes for the temp "textures" are really bothersome. I want smoothness! Soon, soon...
