This was all done in pen without any pencil lines so mistakes are there but over all i find it almost freeing to draw without an option for eraser yet i also know how to use pen lightly so you can go back over it darker with more final lines and cross hatch and use a tad bit of light weight to help. i am nowhere near perfect though, especially without any references but considering that i think i did rather well.
this was something i did not get a chance to dive into yet, but it is part of an art trade with canis-ferox. i adore her work and i wanted to try my hand at drawing rook, her werewolf character. I had put it off due to the impending convention making me super busy. Though as it turned out, i had a chunk of time to draw during the con while ironically playing the game "werewolf". how appropriate.
So since the game took a few hours late at night but requires a lot of sitting and waiting between closing your eyes, i drew this every time my eyes were open. some of the shading or details are missing wrong or half done because of the quick interruptions. same thing happens when i draw at work and have to run back and forth. still rook turned out rather nicely. if i recall, it was about 2-3 hours worth of work with a few interruptions along the way. i do need to work on my expressions, poses and anatomy but i am just getting back into art again and will have plenty more art to come in future months. This convention and the month leading to it are my return to form i guess.
This was just my first sketch i wanted to get done, to follow will be a full bodied werewolf picture of rook, though i am going to try and draw him three times with different body types. he has a hat and trench coat in many of her drawings of him. the markings are a tad off as i was drawing from scratch and had no access to his reference. also why i am going to be doing another few sketches that are closer on point and have him in his clothes.

i had fun with this i was just drawing on the spot and seeing where it would take me. i did it through an ironic game of "werewolf" a party game they play at cons in which you constantly must stop, close your eyes, wait for things to occur, then open eyes. so it was kind of funny because it would break my concentration on which lines i was placing where or what areas of shading i had put or half completed. XD yet no one but me would probably notice and by now Ive long forgot lol. there have been moments in art when i pushed the inking WAY to far and thus really darkens the picture, threw off the shade balance, ruined details, and flattens the dimension... any of which can ruin a picture. knowing when to stop is a hard skill especially when details can be fun to draw in.
