In today's episode, we shift from the reveal at the end of the last episode to another breakfast, that between the royal skunks King Adler and Marshal Roland. Their conversation allows us to see what is going on at a slightly higher level. Which is not to say that the duo are omnipotent.
(Slight spoiler: while Roland, we shall see, did issue WW3 a leave-pass, the conversation in this episode indicates that he did not know where he was taking the leave.)
I am reliably informed by
tegerio that while there is anecdotal evidence to suggest that dragons existed at some point in the past -- perhaps -- no one in the recent times has seen one, or, at least, any witness that could be regarded as reliable.

I had originally intended this story to be on the short side, as WW5's adventures go, but as I've been going deeper into the story, and have been discussing it with my colleagues, it's taken on a life of its own.
I just finished writing episode "Z" today, and you may well see at least another fifteen episodes, if not more, beyond that. There's a lot of action and intrigue to come, yet.

I've had that happen, most notably in "Sinnesteuersymphonie," a story I did for Spontoon Island, where I radically changed the ending as I was writing it; I credit the heroine/narrator with "telling" me to do so.
I'm having a lot of fun with "Awkward Squad," since we're seeing new areas, and getting a look inside the Marshal's head.
