Today is the fourteenth of March, the third month of the year. What does that mean? 3.14, that's what, thus Pie day! Pinkie of course loves the idea but Twilight believes another mathematical symbol is superior when it comes being a math constant when measuring the circumference of circles. In short, this is a math joke.

Pi-Day is... an arbitrary number built on an arbitrary , built on an arbitrary date system, composed out of an arbitrary numerics system.
Truth be told, Pi-Day is the sign you don't REALLY care about maths but just want to show you're not completely against the thing that makes your life not-shit.
Kind of like Saint Patricks day, MLK day, Presidents day or Monarch Day.
