Furry Musician's Spotlight -- Episode #7
Due to the extended length of the new, 2015 Podcast format and FA's 10MB file-size limit, the FA versions of the Spotlight must now be at a very low bitrate.
For high-resolution versions of your favourite songs, be sure to click on the links below... and be sure to thank the artists for so freely sharing their work by commenting and upping their views!
(And keep your paws crossed for luck that we find a home for the High Bitrate versions of the Spotlight on iTunes' Podcasts!)

I said it in the comment to
Zironyxcyx. That is probably one of the best recordings of a classical piece of music on FA. That's no exaggeration! Everyone needs to listen to the entire thing right now! Brilliant!

Oh my, that's a good question.
I would not study a kind of music, but music arranging. To me, to arrange music for an orchestra seems like a daunting and complicated process, but I also have the feeling that it isn't as complex as I think it is, and if I can understand how what I think are complex pieces are arranged, I will likely be able to arrange my own music much better.

Ive done my fair share of orchestral arrangements, it helps to know how certain instruments blend with one another :3 putting them on paper and transposing them based on instrument key is also another key method else it would sound sour, just takes some practice like anything else, but it's not too overly complex, just gotta let your imagination take hold of the project :D
im sure there are some books that give guidelines but music is an art, guidelines help but youre only limited by your imagination, check local music shops :3 i learned from years of music theory classes in grade school and college so i dont have much information about where to find things but im sure theres tons
I tend to suffer from the opposite. I know i can play anything if i can practice long and hard.... but it takes me months to sit down and fully compose an entire score from top to bottom, an another couple months to tinker with it on my computer. The inspiration i believe is the hardest. Remember... none of the Beatles could read or write music, but they had the talent to listen and play what they felt.. that;s inspiration.
Thanks so much, Runtt! Can't wait to hear what you create!!!
(And you know, the convention ended so quickly, I didn't get a chance to interview you and Matthew for the Spotlight before we were driving through that ice-storm back home! Hope we can schedule a Skype interview sometime with ya!)

Well, with a username is other than what you wish to be called, and FA listing the song as: "Caliber - Frozen Decay - by HarmonicHawk" ... I think "awesome" is that when you submit next time, you'll be so clear with the information in your the Submission (reply to the submission journal and/or in the FA submission itself) that there will be no way potentially conflicting info can be misinterpreted!
Oh my~ thank you for teh honorz once again! Sorry for taking so long until I finally sat to reply to this PAWESOME podcast y'all make here at Furry Musicians! This was very entertaining to listen to! So much great music in our beloved fandom
To answer the question of the week... well, I don't actually know much of the music-studying world out there, but I'd definitely go with jazz
Also, that outro is simply LOVELY! Thanks for sharing all this <3
