Endless Realms bestiary - Cetan
Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
Unsurprisingly, there are mechanics in the game for mounts and mounted combat, and the art director wanted an original aquatic species inspired by seahorses and seals to serve that role. Admittedly, the only thing remaining of seahorses is the curled tail tip for anchoring, as I ended up going more of a seal/ray/cetacean route, but I think it works :)
