For those who have seen my Triumph, time to begin really working on it! Money is going into this before my next fursuit, sadly. This I can get more use out of, than a fursuit :P. Plus, this is far more my forte than fursuit building.
BIKE:
1959 Triumph TR6-B 650cc
REAL Cafe Racer! Not imitation!
Barn find!
Bike has (I think) A high compression engine. Damn thing is near impossible to kick over. Engine needs TLC, so does the trans and primary drive. It has no speedo, tach, directionals, etc because racer. Competition parts are installed on it, so I need to figure out what is in it so I can properly rebuild it.
Plans: Satin Black powdercoated frame
Matte Black ceramic header coating
Re-Polish all chrome pieces, send severely pitted parts out for re-plating
Full custom wiring harness, get rid of the spaghetti mess, make it look more neat and like a show bike.
Keep everything to period! no modern parts! Tires will be Bias Ply tube type racing tires, just like the ones on there now.
Repair the slapped together parts, like the duct taped on foam for the gas tank mount. Make it higher quality
Rebuild forks that are on it, check rear shocks
Rebuild engine, trans, and primary drive
Replace sprockets and chain
Custom gas tank pant job, British Racing Green with some RAF inspired graphics. Minimalistic.

As far as I could tell, this bike was converted to a Cafe Racer back in the 60s. The tail section was replaced around the 70s, and the Carburetor was swapped to an Amal 930 right when they came out. The dead give-away that the Amal carburetor is an early version is the lack of a bowl drain.
This bike was driven hard and put away sometime in the 70s or maybe early 80s. It was sitting in a barn until I found it. I got my hands on it, cleaned the carb, and fired her up. Leaks oil like a british bike, the clutch slips and then suddenly grabs, the slick shift mechanism is sticky, throttle cable is sticky, the whole thing of it being put away for so long and not moved.
Just needs some TLC, magneto recharge, rewire, and made to look pretty. I mean, it looked pretty before I even began to tear into it, but it will look drop dead sexy when it's done!
