Hey everyone, Thought I should post a finished project since all you have seen for a while is WIPs. Here she is, Kayla is a Weatherby Mk.5 in 270 WBY which I bought just the other week at the gun show. Very funny story about getting her. I walked up to the table and asked the very polite woman there, "hey, what does this Mark 5 cost, there is no price tag on it." (all the rest of their product had tags) Shem looked at it, then all over the table hoping I suspect to find the tag, She apologiesed and said she needed to ask, I said no problem, and she asked a gentleman who came over looked all over the table again then said he wasn't sure and asked an older gentleman who... well to say he was having a bad day is giving him the benefit of the doubt.
I asked this man the price and he said, "What would you offer?" I smiled and said, "If I told you my offer you would tell me to go F**k myself." he gave me a really nasty look and said, "well then make an offer so i can tell you to fo f**k yourself and get on with our lives." I was needless to say a little miffed and so offered 800 bucks (for those who do not know a Mk.V with a Synthetic stock, which is what it had when i bought it, cost around 1100 new minimum, and that is a very rare find, the scope is 400 new and an easy find at 250 used, total value in my head of 1500ish for new and call it 1100 used).
The older gentleman looked at the rifle, looked at me then repeated it a couple times with an expression of 'what do you know I do not.' Finally he said, "Is that an offer?" and I said, "hell yes" and he agreed and did the paperwork. The guy was rude and got skinned, I normally avoid doing that because hey no one wants to be skinned, be he deserved it.
Took this beauty home, found i already had a box of ammo in this caliber and a wood stock which fit perfectly (cause you know I am that kind of guy :) ) I will need to put some sling point on it, and work up a load but I think I just found my new hunting rifle. She is a beauty and As I have said many times before a Mk V is an Orgasm inducing rifle and I will stand by that.

If he had smiled I would have been nicer, just looked around at the prices, the cheapest i found that rifle for was 1300 *chuckle* makes life even sweeter. Not sure how she shoots yet, gotta get her out to the range and put some rounds through her. Got the ammo, just need to put them through then reload.
