*giggles* lemme explain~
E.V.E. was a project that was designed to be the ultimate bio weapon. Her creator thought that was unfair, and apparently she thought the same, because she broke out, destroyed the lab, and [to protect him from an emergency explosive charge] swallowed her creator.
For a long time she stayed in the ruins of the lab, with rumors of the creature floating around town. She eventually laid eggs, and they were sorta 'unleashed' on the world.
In their 'larval' stage, EVEs are tiny, a foot tall at most, but usually about 6 inches. They have an odd bladed tail that can be used to link with a host's spinal column. They don't actually derive any nutrients from the host, they rely on them almost completely and totally for protection, food, and the like though... much like children, but alot less helpless.
In the adolescent stage, they start to become a little more self sufficient, but still stay a little too close to their 'parents', gradually drifting away from using them for everything
And in the adult stage, they begin to take care of their host, helping them as much as they can to be useful.
They reproduce by absorbing DNA from their hosts, and friends they've come in contact with, and the new larvae will resemble the 'parent', usually given to them to take care of
They're considered parasitic because of the total dependancy, as well as their odd ability to link to the host. in times of danger, or sometimes just for fun, they can control the host's body, as long as they're linked.
